My First Birthday

My first birthday was a blast. We held the festivities at my grandparents house. I had quite a few family members there and all the kids went out to swim and play in the pool. Most of the adults stayed inside talking. After swimming we had a cook out and fed everyone. Then it was time for presents and cake. Well you can imagine what happened. The presents were great don't get me wrong, but it was all a little too much. I was finally stripped and was sat in the middle of the kitchen floor so that I could eat my cake. The first thing I did was stick my foot in it. I was able to smear the cake all over myself, the floor and even get some on the people around me. Smart thinking though to take off all my clothes. Everyone was laughing hysterically as I ate my cake and I totally put on a show for everyone.

My First Trip Out of the Country

In August of 2007 we went up to see my great grandma in Canada. We drove first to our family reunion in Effingham, Illinois. Then drove up to Canada from there. I have my first stamp in my passport. My great grandma lives up in Bracebridge, Ontario and towards the end of the journey in the car I was getting restless. I was already in my new car seat because mommy knew I would have a fit if I was turned around in my car seat the whole time.

We visited grandma for a couple days before heading back to KC.

Sitting atop grampa's shoulders after dinner one night.

This is where we stayed in Bracebridge. It was gorgeous and an old fashioned house that had been changed into a hotel.

Great Grandma, mommy and me on our day of departure.

So big walking and getting ready to head back to the states.

We ended up driving back to Michigan where we arrived at the airport and got on a plane. I slept for the first part and then when we arrived in Chicago for our connecting flight we had quite a bit of time to kill so I got to play. I didn't sleep the second time, but I didn't fuss a lot either because mommy was taking such good care of me on the plane by whispering in my ear and just calming me down. We made it back safe and sound.

My First Steps

I was a little over 10 months old when I took my first steps without holding on to something. I had been walking while holding on to the couch and had reached the end. There was a toy I wanted on the side table and mommy turned around just in time to snap me walking from the couch to the table. Unfortunately the video won't load so you'll have to trust me on this.

World's of Fun and Fourth of July

My first time to Ocean's of Fun. We played for a long time in the kiddie pool. I loved sitting here putting my hands over the water.

My First Time Crawling

Only 2 days after my Aunt's wedding I began to crawl at daycare. And luckily Ms. Patty (daycare) had her video camera going so that she could catch me on tape for my mommy. I had been trying to crawl for a couple weeks, but I finally did it correctly and was ready to go.

My Aunt Charity's Wedding

April 28th was a very busy day because it was my Aunt Charity's wedding day. My mom and I arrived pretty early that morning to get ready for the wedding. It had been a long evening the night before because the tornado sirens were going off just as we arrived at the church for the rehearsal and some nice size hail fell from the sky. What a way to spend an evening, but things got better. Aunt Charity's wedding was black and red and my mom had this red dress on which she was really uncomfortable with. Unfortunately she still had baby weight to lose and the dress was very tight and she said it wasn't very flattering.

I sat with family since my mommy was the maid of honor and watched as my Aunt Charity embraced married life at our church. Here are a few pictures to recap the evening.

Alicia's Wedding

My mommy's sorority friend Alicia got married April 10th, 2007.

Here's a few more pictures of me at K-State. About 7 months old in these pictures.

Going to the Zoo

So it's my first time going to the zoo. Not quite sure what to expect yet, but mommy is constantly saying it's a zoo out there so we'll see what she means. We went with our friends Courtney and Gavin.

My First Swimming Lesson

We went to this big building out in Grandview with my mommy's friend Courtney and my friend Gavin. Mommy said something about swimming lessons and put me in this funny little diaper and shorts. I was excited, but I didn't know what for. Then I saw it. A huge hole with water in it lay before me. Kids were screaming and splashing all around me. It actually wasn't too bad and I had fun splashing my mommy.

My First Snow

What is this white stuff on the ground? It came down while we were sleeping and then the phone was ringing very early this morning to tell my mommy she didn't have to go to work. Yeah a whole day with mommy and a chance to check out this white stuff.

My First Christmas

My first christmas was a busy one. I got so many new toys and got to spend it with my family. Here are a few pictures to show you about the time.My first Christmas card picture. My Christmas Eve pj's.

My First Thanksgiving

I had many first Thanksgivings. We had 3 days with 3 different families to celebrate a day of thanks for everything we have. First we were invited to my mommies friend Courtney's inlaws house. This was a lot of fun because I got to see my good friend Gavin.
We also ate dinner with my grandparents and again with some friends of my mommy. It was a big day.

Halloween

My first Halloween was interesting. We went up to Manhattan for the homecoming parade so I got to wear my costume a week early. Even though my daddy doesn't celebrate holiday's my mommy does and will continue to expose me to all the things life has to bring us. I was a sheriff, but many people mistakened me for a cowboy. Whoever heard of a Mexican cowboy? I'm border patrol. :)

My Aunt & Uncle

My Aunt Charity loves me very much. Here she is feeding me my bottle.

Sleeping with my uncle Scott!

My Wildcat Outfit

My second K-State Wildcat game at 2 weeks old. I am even wearing Wildcat socks while I sleep on grampa's chest. Look at our size difference.
